Our Sixth Form students are given the opportunity to develop their personal interests and talents, which we hope they will continue to enjoy and pursue after they leave school. It is important to remember that many of these activities will encourage and improve leadership skills, time management, commitment and perseverance; these are all qualities which are valued highly by universities and employers.
The list of interests and activities includes:
Academic Societies, Ball Committees (for the two annual Balls), CCF, Charity Work, Choirs and other Musical Ensembles, Community Service, Debating, Duke of Edinburgh, Drama Productions, Educational and Cultural Trips, Musical Performances and Concerts, Open University modules (click here for more information), Theatre Visits, ‘V' for Volunteering, Work Experience Abroad and Young Enterprise.
Our Sixth Form students are encouraged to set up their own clubs or societies, where feasible and appropriate.
One afternoon per week is scheduled for Games. There is a wide range of sporting options for students to choose from, including:
Aerobics, Athletics, Badminton, Climbing, Cricket, Cross Country, Dance, Fencing, Fitness, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Rugby, Self-Defence, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis and Tennis.
Our school sport teams benefit from excellent coaching, and compete at regional and national level. In addition, there are tours abroad, offering unique life experiences.
