Our Sixth Form students are given the opportunity to develop their personal interests and talents, which we hope they will continue to enjoy and pursue after they leave school. It is important to remember that many of these activities will encourage and improve leadership skills, time management, commitment and perseverance; these are all qualities which are valued highly by universities and employers.
The list of interests and activities includes:
- Leadership - Mentor, Creative arts Ambassador, Sixth Form representative for the School Council, Subject Ambassador, Prefect, House Captain, or Head of School.
- Broadening Horizons - World Challenge and Student Exchange, The Duke of Edinburgh Award – Gold Level, The Combined Cadet Force, Academic Societies, Ball Committees (for the two annual Balls), Charity Work, Community Service, Debating, ‘V' for Volunteering, Work Experience Abroad and Young Enterprise and Open University modules (click here for more information).
- Nurturing Creativity - Choirs and other Musical Ensembles, Drama Productions, Musical Performances and Concerts, Theatre Visits, Educational and Cultural Trips.
- Sports For All - there is a wide range of sporting options for students to choose from, including - Aerobics, Athletics, Badminton, Climbing, Cricket, Cross Country, Dance, Fencing, Fitness, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Rugby, Self-Defence, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis and Tennis.
Our Sixth Form students are encouraged to set up their own clubs or societies, where feasible and appropriate.
Our school sport teams benefit from excellent coaching, and compete at regional and national level. In addition, there are tours abroad, offering unique life experiences.
