Hockey Tour Report ‘A Team’
All the girls were very excited as we set off on our hockey tour to Cheadle, Manchester. The bus journey was very noisy and we hoped that Mr Hodgkinson, Miss Allen, Mrs Cole and Mrs Walsh had packed their earplugs.
Our first stop was Stockport Grammar where we played against a quite inexperienced team and we came away with a 10 -0 win. Jessie scored 4 goals, Charlotte 3, and Kirtika, Jessica and Carly scored the other goals.
We then headed straight for our hotel, the Village Hotel in Cheadle. We settled in to our rooms and then got ready for a fun swim before dinner . Unfortunately, the teachers sat too far away from the edge of the pool so we couldn't splash them. Swimming was followed by a tasty dinner with brownies, ice cream or fruit salad for dessert. We then all relaxed in our rooms before bed.
Wake up on Saturday was 7:15am to be ready for breakfast (not sure how much sleep everyone had.) Today our hosts were Cheadle Hulme School who we played first. There was some great hockey and slick passing from our whole team from defence right up to the forwards and we won the game 6-1. (Jessie 3, Carly 3).
The second game of the morning was against Queen’s Chester who have been very strong opposition in previous years. This year however, we were much stronger and played some fantastic hockey together as a team coming out on top with a score of 8-0. (Jessie 5, Carly 2, Charlotte 1.)
We all really enjoyed our tour, and hope to continue our winning ways for the rest of the season. Thank you very much to Mr. Hodgkinson for organising the tour and for all the hard work he puts in to our hockey. Thanks also to Miss Allen, Mrs Cole and Mrs Walsh for looking after us and to our supporters for travelling to watch us.

Hockey Tour Report ‘B Team’
On Friday 6th October the AKS teams set off on a hockey tour to Stockport. The A team went in one coach and the B team went in another. It took ages to get there. Finally, we had made it to Stockport Grammar School to play against them. The B team (who I am captain of) played a great match. The score was 5-0 to us! Priyanka scored one goal and I scored the other 4. It was a great team effort and I thought everybody played really well. After we had finished playing the match we had orange or apple juice and kit kats!
Then we went to the Village Hotel in Cheadle Hulme. We had 25 minutes to unpack and then we went swimming for half an hour. After we had got showered and dressed we went down for dinner and I had chicken and chips – delicious!
I was very proud of all the players in the team they all did so well today. After dinner, we had to go sleep to get rested for the games tomorrow.
On the Saturday, the second day of our hockey tour, we all woke up early, got dressed and went down for breakfast – it was delicious! There was fresh fruit, warm croissants and an English breakfast with fresh orange juice. After we had all finished our breakfast we went back to our rooms and packed our bags. Once our teeth were cleaned and our hair was brushed it was time to set off for our second day of hockey.
Our first match was against Queens, the score was 3-1 to us. We were all buzzing to have won another game. The goal scorers were Priyanka, Hollie and me. I think we all worked very hard and worked well as a team.
Our second match was against Cheadle Hulme, the score was 2-1 to them. In the first half I scored and we were all hoping to come home with three wins. But in the second half Cheadle scored and it was 1-1. AKS were trying so hard to pull it off in the last half but no luck came. Once again Cheadle Hulme scored again then the whistle was blown and the game was over. I think we did really well as a team. Well done everyone for a great tour.
