Bronze Training Day
On Sunday 5th February we had a Duke of Edinburgh Award Training Day at school, and overall, the day was very rewarding, since I learnt so many new skills, and we also had loads of fun doing it! The first thing we did was make some route cards for our practice expedition. We had to find things such as the distance, the height gains and the time it would take us. I really enjoyed this because I liked learning about the beautiful places we would be seeing on our practice expedition.
We then went outside, and lit a stove to make some hot drinks. t was great to learn how to use the equipment safely! Finally, we went over to the grass, and learnt how to pitch a tent. This was the most rewarding (but also challenging) parts for me, because I had never done it before!
I am glad that I learnt so many new things and the training day has made me so excited for the training expedition.
