The Year 7’s and Year 8’s were treated to a mixture of drama, workshop and improvised drama on the subject of underage drinking and alcohol misuse. The production, called ‘Smashed’ visited AKS for the second year and was just as much fun as before, as well as giving a very clear message.
Everyone got involved in answering questions and giving suggestions of how the characters could change their bad decisions to good ones. The cast of 3 were very funny and really good at performing, there was also amazing music! They provided an interesting way to make some serious points that are relevant to us. We were sad to see them go, but they were off to more schools.
‘We were able to give the characters suggestions about how to resist peer pressure, and they would then improvise and play out our ideas. That was fun’.
‘The play was based on peer pressure, I learnt lots of ways to say ‘no’ to things I didn’t want to get involved with’.
‘I really enjoyed getting involved in answering questions and making suggestions’.
Many thanks SMASHED for coming to AKS. We hope to see you next year.
