An orchestra made up of over 80 musicians from 18 different schools came together to rehearse for the whole day on Sunday for the AJIS Proms, held at Bolton School. Five AKS junior musicians took part and had fun playing as part of a large orchestra and also working in sectional rehearsals. The day concluded with a concert at 4pm in which the orchestra played 7 pieces of music that they learnt together on that day.
“The children behaved impeccably. They worked hard and it was quite a busy day but they seemed to really enjoy the experience." Our professional conductor Mark Heron was very impressed with their efforts and "the standard achieved in the concert was excellent“.
CDs of the concert plus certificates of attendance will be sent out to our junior musicians. Well done to you all!
