Scholarships are awarded with transparency, honesty, and consistency, in keeping with the school's values and principles; they reward commendably high achievement in a number of areas. Scholarship awards represent a percentage reduction in annual fees and are not dependent upon family income, nor are they negotiable. The maximum scholarship award is 10% for any child.
Scholarships awarded in Year 7 remain with the pupil throughout their entire Senior School career, including Sixth Form, as long as respective achievement in the scholarship discipline, as well as general conduct, remains appropriately deserving. All scholars are named in school literature.
Scholarships are available for Year 7 entry in:
a) Drama - up to 2 major scholarships at 10% and 2 minor scholarships at 5%
b) Music - up to 2 major scholarships at 10% and 2 minor scholarships at 5%
c) Sport - up to 4 major scholarships at 10% and 4 minor scholarships at 5%
Scholarship assessments take place for the above shortly before the January Entrance Assessment, and a scholarship application form must be completed with additional details. Up to 10 Academic Scholarships are also awarded solely on the basis of attainment in the January Entrance Assessment. Up to 8 of these scholarships are major, at 10%, and up to 2 of these are minor, at 5%. Existing AKS pupils must take the Entrance Assessment if they wish to be considered for an Academic Scholarship. Up to 4 All-Rounder Scholarships are available for pupils whose achievement is to a recognisably high standard across a range of disciplines. These scholarships are awarded at 10% or 5%, depending upon the level of attainment.

Scholarship assessments take place for the above in the Spring Term of Year 11, and a scholarship application form must be completed with additional details. Depending upon achievement, these awards are limited and fixed between 5% and 10% reduction of annual fees. Sixth Form Academic Scholarships are also awarded to external applicants solely on the basis of certified attainment at GCSE level. These scholarships are also limited and fixed between 5% and 10% reduction of annual fees.
